Hello, (o´▽`o)ﾉ my name is Guan-Fen Lai. I was born in Hsin-Chu, and I recieved bachelor degree of chemical engineering from National Cheng Kung university. My hobbies are reading books and gardening. Dog is my favorite animal and I also have two dogs in my house; thus, I’ve gained a lot of experience about petting dogs to share. ( ° ∀ ° )b I’m so glad that I can join Masaki’s lab. People here are friendly and warmhearted. It might have many challenges to overcome in the future. Hopefully I can roll with the punches! En-Hsiang Mai (麥恩祥)
Hello, I am En-Hsiang Mai, 186 cm tall. I was born in New Taipei city. I graduated from department of chemical and material engineering in National Central University. I will play basketball or work out in my free time. Besides, I am a foody, I like to discover all kinds of local delicacies. To go on a trip around Taiwan, swim across the Sun Moon Lake, climb the Jade Mountain are the three most desired goals in my life. Yu-Hsin Chang (張郁欣)
Hello everyone, my name is Yu-Hsin Chang. I was born and raised in Taichung and graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NCHU. I like to go scuba diving and hiking because it makes me feel calm and relaxed. I also like to make desserts. It’s my honor to join Masaki’s group, people here are really kind and friendly. Yao-De Chiu (邱耀德)
Hello, I am Yao-De Chiu. I’m from Tainan and graduated from NCKU with double major in environmental and chemical engineering. I like to play softball and baseball in my leisure time. Moreover, I usually do weight training to improve my athletic ability. I am glad to join Masaki’s lab. There are many kind people, and I think I can get along well with them soon. My research is about supermolecule. Hope I can do and learn well during the time I study in NTHU. (Since Aug. 2021)

2019-2022 M: Jia-Ning Zhang (張家寧)
Hi guys, I am Jia-Ning Zhang. I am from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, main land of China. I like to play table tennis, travel and listen to music. Although I did not grow up in Taiwan, I have spent four years in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Datong University in Taiwan. Next, I will study and live in Taiwan for another two years. I have not lived in such a place for a long time except my hometown, so Taiwan is like a second hometown to me. I am very happy that I can join this lab. In the next two years, I will continue to improve my research ability and knowledge system. I hope to give myself a satisfactory answer after two years. (Since Aug. 2019)

Hello, My name is Chen-En Tsai. I was born in Hsinchu and graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NCKU, which is in Tainan. I am glad to join in Prof. Masaki’s lab in NTHU. I like to play basketball, watching movies, video games and workout. I’m interest in synthesizing polymer. The guys in the lab are kind. They help me a lot, not only teach me the experiment but also familiarize me with the environment of the lab. Hello, my name is Shao-Chun Sun. I am from Tainan, and my hobbies are reading, playing soccer and video games. I graduated from chemical engineering at NTHU, and I’m honored to have this opportunity to enter Material Synthesis Lab with advisor Masaki Horie at department of chemical engineering. My research field is the research on molecular machines and switches, which was a new and active area. My goal is to have have a deeper understanding of my research field, which will be beneficial for further applications on molecular machines. Hello, I am Guan-Lin Pan (潘冠霖) from Taoyuan. I graduated from department of chemical engineering in National Chung Cheng University. In my leisure time, I usually go to gym to do weight training and listen music to motivate me. I also like to jog outdoors because it makes me feel relaxing and comfortable. And, I’m a first-year master's student. My goal is making more new friends and getting along well with them, and good communications in English with others. Hello, I am Pin-Rong, Wu. I was born in Taipei and graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NCKU, which is in Tainan. I am glad to join in Prof. Masaki’s lab in NTHU. I have many interests like playing volley ball, watching movies, and sleeping. The students in the lab are kind. They help me a lot to get use to the lab and the NTHU. Hello, I am Chun-Yu, Wu. I was born in Kaohsiung and graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NTHU. I was in popular dancing club in both high school and undergraduate. Hello, my name is Chen, Lin (林宸), from Taichung, Taiwan. I graduated from chemical engineering at NTHU, and I will finish my master here, too. I like to watch some interesting video and listen to music on YouTube at my free time. I also love dogs, and sometimes I will spend time taking care of dogs in campus. I’m interest in organic semiconductor device, process and synthesis since I was a college student, so I’m glad to join Masaki’s lab. Hello! I am Jiang Jia-Cheng, born in Chung-Hua Yuanlin. Graduated from Yuan-Ze University, I turned over a new leaf during my college life, which results in living far away from home alone and making a lot of friends who take important parts in my life. I have a sweet and lovely family. They always respect my own decision and give me support when needed. Furthermore, my girlfriend is the most vital shelter for upcoming graduated student life. My favorite hobbit is exercise, playing volleyball especially. It is my pleasure to get into Masaki’s lab because everyone here is friendly and motivated. Hello, everyone! I am Hung, Yi-Hao from Taipei,Taiwan. I was graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NCKU in Tainan, and I am going to start my next journey in Masaki’s lab to study polymer synthesis. I’m so glad to explore the new environment around the campus. I like to enjoy the food culture in various place,being willing to wait in long line to experience the delicacy recommended by people. I also play mobile games and read comic books in my spare time. I am looking forward to learning more experiment skills and becoming more professional researcher, and Masaki’s lab is a friendly and fulfilling environment. Hello, my name is Chia-Chi Huang (黃佳琪). I was born in Taoyuan, but graduated from NCKU in Tainan. I’m very glad to get into Prof. Masaki’s lab in NTHU, so I can be close to my hometown. There are so many new challenges here, including making new friends, adopting the environment, and learning new things—mostly about polymer synthesis. Fortunately, there’s a bunch of nice guys in this lab, kindly teaching me everything I need to know. In my casual time, I like to play volleyball and baking some snacks. Hello, everyone! I am Lin, Yi-Chia from Chiayi. I finish my bachelor degree of chemical engineering in NTHU, and I am going to start my double master degree in CHE and service science. It may be a long journey but I believe it worth! I like to explore every possibility in my life. Traveling in different places inspires me a lot for discovering subtle cultural differences, and the behavior of people. Reading is my another hobby, especially in anthropology, history, and design. Recently, I am fascinated in cooking. I like to create different dishes. Traveling, reading, ad cooking weave my colorful and interesting life. Hello, My name is Tsung-Huan Wu (吳宗桓), from Taipei, Taiwan. I was graduated from Department of chemical engineering in NCCU, which is in Chiayi, so I am also very familiar with Chiayi. I am so glad that I can get in to NTHU, and fortunately join this group! Because of the guys here are all nice, including Dr. Masaki of course. Furthermore, all the communication with teacher is in English here, I think that is a good opportunity to improve my English, especially the speaking ability. My interest is pop-dance, specializing in Locking. Therefore, in my casual time, I usually go dancing or do some workout. Hello, everyone! My name is Yi-Wen Chen (陳怡雯) from Chiayi, Taiwan. I finish my bachelor degree of chemical and Materials engineering in NUK. I study Chemical Engineering at NTHU and enter Masaki’s lab to research polymer sciences. Although many new things to learn, but every day very fulfilling. I believe I can learn a lot of Expertise in this lab. In normal time, my hobby is drawing. I try to learn CG by myself. And I also interests in playing mobile games-Onmyoji during my free time. Hello! My name is Lu Yun-Yung(Lyy).I was born in Yilan but I grew up in Taipei. Tainan is like the second hometown to me because I have sweet four year college life in NCKU. I enjoy making new friends and sharing some fun things with them because I believe that experience always is the best teacher not only mine but also others'. Fortunately, I joined this lab, and what impressed me was that everyone here has many cool stories, so it's very interesting to start off the new journey with them. Hello everyone! My name is You-Ting Chen (陳宥廷) from Yilan, Taiwan. I was graduated from Department of chemical engineering in National Tsing Hua University. I feel lucky to be enable to join this lab and expect the new life here. In my casual time, I like to go to gym for workout. G’Day mate, my name is Dao-Hong Huang from Taichung. I was graduated from Tsing Hua university. During my college life, I paid lots of attention on my courses. Besides, I also use my free time to gain different kinds of experiences. Listening to pop music, playing basketball, and doing workout are all my hobbies. After graduated, I went to Australia for working holiday. Life in there means quite important to me. I met a lot of people and heard their special stories. So I decided to make my own unique story. Everyday is Australia is an adventure and I’m so glad to have this kind of experience. After returning back to Taiwan, fortunately I got the chance to study my master degree in Tsing Hua again. I believe the following two years will be very meaningful to me and I’m gonna love it!

Hello, my name is Ming-Jhih Liao. I grew up in Taoyuan. I was graduated from the department of chemical engineering in National Cheng Kung University. I often go to gym to do weight training and play basketball in my leisure time. I also learn ENGLISH and JAPANESE and also a little SPANISH in leisure time. My name is Sune-Chen Hua from Taipei. I finished my military service last year and decided to leave sweet home to explore something new. So here I am. I am so glad to join Masaki Lab and ready to have a new life experience here. I have several hobbies. First I watch football games on weekend especially English Premier League! I am a big fan of Manchester United. I also play golf, swim, and jog in my free time. I also love reading something I can draw inspiration from such as spiritual books and find peace there. Finally, I commit myself to do the research and I hope it goes well! Also I want to learn a lot from everyone I meet!

Hi, my name is Shih-Ting, Chiu (邱詩婷), lived in Taipei. I’m so glad that I have the opportunity to join this Lab. Especially everyone here is nice and friendly. I’m very looking forward to the coming two years. My special skill is making handicraft. Sometimes I would give it to my friends as a birthday gift. In my free time, I like exercising, watching American series, and tasting various delicacies. My goal is to study abroad or to work abroad. Therefore, for the coming two years, I will not only do my best on my research but also make efforts to learn foreign languages. I’m sure that I will learn a lot and have a good time during this period.

2014-2016 M: Yen Ming Chi (紀彥銘)
Hello guys, my name is Yen-Ming Chi. I was born in Taichung county in 1991. Taichung is a good place because its weather is nice and foods are delicious. In contrast, the weather in Hsinchu is cold and windy. My hobbies are jogging and watching cartoons in my leisure time. My favorite cartoon is Spongebob Squarepants because it always makes me laugh! I graduated from Feng Chia University and joined the substitute military service since 2013 June 20 to accomplish military duty in Taiwan. I passed through the Recommendation-Selection Admission Program at that time and was accepted to study Chemical Engineering master degree in NTHU. This is my pleasure to be one of the members in Masaki’s lab! I will work hard and do my best in my research!

Hello!! My name is Chung-Ju Chang. You can call me A-nai. I was a student from Institute of Bioinformatics and Structural Biology. Then, because of the interest, I transfer my major to chemical engineering and join this lovely and nice research group. I am very energetic and have a wide range of hobbies. I love watching TV, singing, listening to the music, playing the volley ball, traveling, especially eating. Therefore, I have to exercise almost every day to keep balance. Hello, I am Yih-Der Lin (林易德) . I graduated from KSHS and Chemical Engineering department National Tsing Hua University. I have curiosity and imagination. My hobby is playing a broad game "escape". I used to participate in many extracurricular activities, such as NTHU flag club, ERSA and Intelligent Ironman Creativity Contest when I was an undergraduate. I joined in Masaki Lab, and learnt lab experiments and instrument operation when I was three-grade student. Now I will do my best on future research. I will enjoy my new life as a master’s student.

Hello there, I’m Ann Chen from Malaysia. I feel so glad to be in Masaki’s lab as the people here are so friendly and helpful. I love travelling and having own leisure time to spend on. While doing my best in this lab, I will not forget to explore this little yet cozy island during my two-year Master program in NTHU. “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new path,” an aspirational quote by Walt Disney.

Hello! My name is Houyi Yang, I graduated from national Tsing Hua university several years ago. I was a bad student in my college time, so I didn't do well in the master entrance test. After that, I finished military service and found a job. I worked for about one and half years, and realized that I still have something to learn in school. So I quit my job, prepared for the master entrance test, and finally was able to go back to Tsing Hua university. I like listening music, playing video games and watching football in my free time. I'm pretty looking forward to learn a lot in the coming two years!

Hello, my name is Hou Yuan Chen. I graduated from Cheng Kung University. I was born in Taoyuan. I enjoy watching movie, traveling and discovering delicious food. I always love to try something new. I have been a backpacker, a volunteer in China, a staff in the US for work and travel and so on. I expect myself to work abroad, so I will do my best to achieve my goals during graduate school. Hi! I’m Chi-Wei Chen (陳齊偉), my hometown is Taipei. In 2009, I graduated from Tatung University and started my master degree study at NTHU. During this period, I joined the army for military service, and finished it in 2012. Now, I am a member of prof. Horie's laboratory having a new project. I wish everything goes perfect in my graduate school life.

Hello, I'm Chun-han Li. I graduated from National Tsing Hua University. It will be my fifth year in this school. I love this school and enjoy the life here. My home is in Taoyuan which is a beautiful space. Sometimes I play tennis which is my favorite sport. And I like watching movies including the old films. Now, I’m very lucky to join Masaki’s group. There must be full of challenges and problems in the future. All I have to do is keep trying and always do my best.

Hello, everyone, I'm Chih-wei Chu. I graduated from Chung Yuan Christian University and Dept. of Chemistry. I had a fascinating school life in CYCU and I wish I could enjoy my school life in NTHU also. In my free time, I love to play basketball and watch a movie. Still, if I have a longer vacation, I would love to travel around also. I'm so glad that I could have this chance to join Masaki's researching group. 2011-2013 M: Ya-Ching Tsai (蔡雅晴)
My name is Ya-ching, Tsai. My hometown is a simple village of Kaohsiung. I like to try and explore new things such as food and culture by having a trip. I graduated from the department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, National University of Kaohsiung. Before I graduated from college, I have had a project about chitosan and carbon nanotubes composite films used for biosensing. Now, I join this group and follow Tiendi’s subject, supermolecular chemistry. It’s quite a different story. However, I believe that the way to do research is the same, and it’s a challenge I got to receive.

My name is Tiendi Wu. I was born in Kinmen in 1986. I graduated from Chemical Engineering Department of Chung Yuan Christian University. I am so lucky to have the chance to do research with Professor Masaki Horie’s group in National Tsing Hua University. I am interested in materials synthesis and chose supermolecular chemistry as my major research project. In my leisure time, I like to play table tennis or go swimming.
